ESOP: One of the Greatest Acropolis Tales

Remember when you were a kid and your parents and teachers told you to share with others? Maybe you were pretty cool with that because, hey, sharing is caring, and it’s a great way to make friends. Or maybe you were more reluctant because that was your shiny red truck, and you didn’t want that one kid in your class who has a penchant for breaking things to mess it up. Either way, in time you learned to share with others, whether you liked it or not.

We, too, believe in the goodness of sharing at Acropolis. In fact, we like it so much that we offer something to our employees that many other companies don’t – ESOPs.

Okay, we know what you might be thinking – what the heck is an ESOP? Isn’t that the one guy who told all those fables about foxes tricking crows or tortoises besting hares in races? Not quite, although it’s one heck of a story! ESOPs are employee stock ownership plans that provide a company’s workforce with an ownership interest in the company. In layman’s terms, it provides you – the worker – with company stock ownership!

So what does that really mean for you? We’re glad you asked. It means that you essentially own part of the company you work for, which gives you a stake in the business’s future. ESOPs are great for helping employees work hand-in-hand to help the company (and themselves) flourish. When the company succeeds, you benefit directly. Oh, and because Acropolis is a privately-held company, the stock can only be held by YOU, the hard-working employee.

ESOPs also help your voice be heard even more. Because of its design in keeping you fully engaged with the company, you are allowed to vote on larger issues, such as the additions of more Acropolises (Or is it Acropoles? Language is funny.). If that weren’t enough, ESOPs also offer some pretty cool tax benefits that aren’t possible with your run-of-the-mill retirement plans, but that’s perhaps a tale for another day.

Basically, ESOPs are wonderful programs that truly reward you for your efforts and give you a voice in your company. When the business moves in the right direction and profits, you will, too. And all of us know that Acropolis succeeds when our clients do, letting everyone live happily ever after.
